Tangential Flow Filter (TFF)

Tangential Flow Filter (TFF)

Tangential flow filtration (TFF) is a rapid and efficient method, usually used for separation and purification of biomolecules. TFF-Easy is used for concentration and desalting of sample solutions, and is emerging as a new technique for EV isolation if coupled with SEC (Pure-EVs columns).

TFF-MV is a filter cartridge in hollow fibers made of polysulfone. The filter is very useful for separating different EVs by size. Indeed, microvesicles bigger than 150 nm are retained inside the hollow fibers, while small EVs and molecules easily permeate the filter. Microvesicles can be recovered with a syringe in PBS buffer without additional purification steps.

We provide 2 types of filters:

TFF-Easy: for concentration of diluted matrices such as cell media and urine prior EV isolation.

TFF-MV: For separation of big microvesicles (> 150 nm) from cell media, biofluids or EV preparations

  • Application

    • Concentration of diluted matrices such as cell media or urine prior to EV isolation.
    • Easy removal of small molecules and ions from the EV preparation.
    • EV dialysis for changing buffer conditions.
    • High efficiency of EV isolation if coupled with SEC columns.
